The team continues with the Anthrophage Scenario. They follow up in two directions; investigating Jared “Nitro” Whitten’s background and checking into Waldo Mclagan, the original Meta who was convicted of the Anthrophage crimes.
An interrogation of Leonard Wayne Lennard a non-Metahuman at Stronghold North who killed Waldo reveals that he seemed disassociated from the killings. Biistaagen rotates him around and Leonard decks him. Though he’s definitely stronger than expected, it bounces off and he’s subdued.
They interview Waldo’s mother who describes him as utter unlike the person who committed those crimes. She mentions an old girlfriend.
The local Department H dropped the ball with visits with Nitro, whose powers require regular interviews. The account manager has been placed on indefinite leave. The team learns that Nitro was consulting a therapist but there’s no name.
Waldo’s girlfriend mentions that he was speaking to a therapist, Dr. Calvin Steiner. Interviewing the good doctor reveals the likely painting that Nitro was seeing in his dreams.
A video of the new Anthrophage reveals audio of lake noise and a duck.
Unfortunately, there is a new crime scene with evidence of another Meta and clear copycat signs to the Anthrophage. A portion of the team goes back to the doctor’s office but he’s not there and he’s also not at his home. Biistaagen uses his bubble-vision on the office and sees that Steiner has a house on a lake.
The team goes there and confronts the Metas that Steiner has been grooming to be the new Anthrophage. The team defeats them and captures Dr. Steiner.
Notes from original case: The original bus scenario was dealt with by the use of Emotional Control powers and Illusions.
Carl Steiner was convicted of conspiracy and mental manipulation leading to kidnapping and murder. A report indicated the Leonard Lennard was looking forward to meeting him in prison and getting to know him.
The other Metas were released after mandatory evaluations.
